Advanced Life Sciences relocates to new Woodridge headquarters
Product Development Center represents major expansion of operations

Woodridge, Ill, September 18, 2003 - Privately held biopharmaceutical company Advanced Life Sciences, Inc. (ALS) has relocated its operations to a newly completed 41,000 sq. ft. building in the Argonne Biotechnology Corridor, ahead of schedule. The new building located at 1440 Davey Road in Woodridge, houses the company’s corporate headquarters and significantly expanded R&D laboratory facilities, announced Michael T. Flavin, Ph.D., ALS’s chief executive officer.

ALS had been leasing space for three years at 1005 Internationale Parkway in Woodridge, but company officials said that expansion of laboratory operations would give ALS more direct control over critical issues and decisions encountered in the early stages of drug discovery and development. ALS’ expanded laboratory operations include chemistry, biological profiling and pharmaceutical sciences.

“Relocation to the new ALS Product Development Center in addition to the major expansion of our laboratory operations, will positively impact our collaborative potential with nearby technology partners such as Argonne National Laboratory, the University of Chicago and the University of Illinois at Chicago,“ said Dr. Flavin.

Advanced Life Sciences is a privately held biopharmaceutical company engaged in the discovery, development and commercialization of novel drugs in the therapeutic areas of infection, cancer and inflammation using its platform in natural products and chemical proteomics coupled with expertise in drug development.
