Advanced Life Sciences Announces Appointment
of Three Additional Members to Its Scientific Advisory Board
Woodridge, Ill, June 6, 2001 - Advanced Life Sciences, Inc. announced
today that it is adding three new members to its Scientific Advisory
Board with the appointments of James H. Fisher, Pharm.D., FCCP,
Patricia A. Frank, Ph.D., and Renslow D. Sherer, Jr., MD.
Dr. Fisher is Interim Assistant Head for Research and Postgraduate
Education in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois
at Chicago. Dr. Fisher received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from
the University of Minnesota and completed a fellowship in Neurology
and Clinical Pharmacokinetics at the same institution. He is a
fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Dr. Fisher
has authored numerous articles in the areas of neurology and pharmacokinetics,
is a reviewer for several refereed journals and is on the Editorial
Board of DICP and the Annals of Pharmacotherapy. He is also a
consultant to many major pharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Frank is a regulatory consultant to the pharmaceutical industry
on the management of the drug development process. Her expertise
is in the design and implementation of safety studies, preparation
of INDs, NDAs and other regulatory documents for submission to
FDA and regulatory agencies worldwide. She has been involved with
over 60 drug candidates for 30 clients. Dr. Frank received a Ph.D.
in Pharmacology from Northwestern University Medical School and
completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Pharmacology at Northwestern
University. Her publications include two book chapters, and she
holds three patents in the area of radiopharmaceuticals. Dr. Frank's
previous experience includes drug development at G.D. Searle and
Pitman-Moore, Inc. She also sits on the Board of Directors for
Vigen Laboratories and Influx, Inc.
Dr. Sherer is the Director of the Cook County HIV Primary Care
Center as well as Associate Professor of Medicine at Rush Medical
College. Dr. Sherer has a Doctor of Medicine degree from Rush
University and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal
Medicine. He has published extensively in the area of HIV and
AIDS and has been a member of numerous committees, task forces,
and panels on AIDS. He is the recipient of the Albert Ebert award
presented by the National Pharmacist Honor Society.
The Advanced Life Sciences Scientific Advisory Board provides
